Held on September 23, 2026, Rieckermann’s two-part webinar, Advancing Pharmaceutical Quality: From Risk Management to AI-Driven Compliance, brought together pharmaceutical professionals from across the region to explore best practices in Quality Risk Management (QRM) and the emerging regulatory landscape surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) in GMP-regulated environments.

Strengthening pharmaceutical quality through risk-based thinking 

The webinar began with a comprehensive discussion on pharmaceutical Quality Risk Management. Presented by Rieckermann’s Quality Manager, Josemoney J. James. The session explored the principles of ICH Q9(R1), highlighting how risk-based decision-making can be applied across the entire pharmaceutical lifecycle.

Understanding the growing impact of AI in pharmaceutical manufacturing 

The second part of the webinar shifted focus to the rapidly growing role of AI in pharmaceutical manufacturing and the regulatory considerations associated with its adoption. Led by Steve Slater (Managing Director, Traque), the session examined the draft EU GMP Annex 22 guidance and its implications for pharmaceutical companies exploring AI and machine learning applications. Participants were also introduced to the core principles outlined in the draft Annex 22 framework. Particular emphasis was placed on maintaining human accountability in GMP-critical processes.
