RIECKERMANN’S 4-CITY HPAPI TECHNICAL ROADSHOW
From solubility enhancement to full-process containment, the roadshow highlighted practical approaches for safer, more efficient high-potency OSD manufacturing.
Rieckermann successfully concluded their four-city HPAPI Technical Roadshow in China, bringing together global technology partners and pharmaceutical professionals to address two of the industry’s most pressing manufacturing challenges: poor solubility and high-containment production.
Held across Shenzhen, Taiwan, Shanghai and Beijing, the roadshow was organized in collaboration with Rieckermann’s global industry partners including Glatt, KORSCH, Alexanderwerk, Pharma Technology, and TRM Filter.
Addressing key challenges in HPAPI manufacturing
The HPAPI market is booming, fueled by rapidly growing demand for targeted oncology and ADC therapies. Nevertheless, the industry is confronted with two core challenges:
- Up to 70%–90% of investigational HPAPI compounds have poor water solubility, greatly restricting formulation development and therapeutic performance.
- Highly potent ingredients carry significant exposure and cross-contamination risks, making full-process high-containment production an essential compliance standard.
The roadshow centered on amorphous solid dispersion (ASD) technologies for solubility enhancement and full-line high-containment systems, with emphasis on integrated manufacturing approaches for high-potency oral solid dosage (OSD) production. Through expert presentations and technical discussions, participants explored practical ways to overcome solubility bottlenecks while maintaining containment control across the full production process.
End-to-end solutions backed by local execution
The collaborative technology presentations also covered the complete manufacturing chain, from feeding, granulation and tableting to final finishing and exhaust filtration. By combining proven process machinery with robust containment concepts, the showcased solutions support pharmaceutical manufacturers in establishing scalable, efficient and regulatory-compliant HPAPI production environments.
