Rieckermann powers Airbaker’s expansion with advanced 9-layer blown film line in Zhuhai, China

Rieckermann is proud to announce the successful installation and commissioning of a cutting-edge 9-layer blown film line at the new facility of Guangdong Airbaker New Material Co., marking a significant milestone in a long-standing partnership and shared commitment to innovation in high-barrier packaging solutions.

The installation of the new line was completed in early 2025, and featured a 3,000 mm layflat and capacity of up to 700 kg/h. A key highlight of this project was the intensive support provided by Rieckermann’s service team, which included the disassembly and reassembly of an older 7-layer system, previously located at another site. They also collaborated closely with valued partner, Macchi, to ensure smooth and organized execution.

Airbaker, a dynamic player in the packaging industry, previously invested in a 7-layer blown film line in 2021, which was also supplied by Macchi and intensively supported by Rieckermann. This initial line, with an 1,800 mm layflat and 450 kg/h capacity, quickly proved its value, consistently delivering high-quality barrier films for export. This spurred Airbaker to commission the additional 9-layer line as part of their operational expansion.

Following the Chinese Spring Festival, Airbaker’s General Manager, Mr. Xie, hosted a live demonstration for a select group of domestic and international visitors, showcasing both lines in full operation. This has already resulted in further inquiries for similar machines.
