Rieckermann exhibits green technologies for a sustainable, energy-efficient future in “Save Planet Earth!” exhibition

In support of sustainable initiatives for an energy-efficient future, the German Unity Day celebration in Malaysia this year was held on October 4 in Kuala Lumpur with the theme “Save Planet Earth”. In this exhibition, industry players including Rieckermann were invited to share ideas for technologies, solutions, and applications to help tackle current climate and environmental challenges and fulfill the desire to make a better life for the future generation. The ambassador of Germany to Malaysia, Mr. Peter Blomeyer, further emphasized that the most urgent challenge to humanity is the climate and environmental crisis.

During the exhibition, Rieckermann’s environmental technology experts highlighted their expertise in sustainable energy solutions, such as the production of Bio-CNG or Bio-LNG fuels out of biogas. This also included the upgrading of biogas to natural gas quality and the compression or liquifying for transports. Furthermore, municipal household waste was presented in a one cubic meter clear acrylic box to demonstrate the potential of resource recovery from waste through Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT). Many components from household waste can be recycled, e.g., some are used as Rederived Fuel (RDF). The remaining organic waste can also be utilized as a feedstock for an anaerobic digestion system to produce biogas.

German Unity Day 2022 was jointly organized by the embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC). The one-day event took place in Tiffin at the Yard, Sentul, Malaysia. The aim was to bring together active advocates involved in climate and environmental issues to exchange ideas and solutions, with a view to bringing the market a step forward from vision to action.

Over 600 attendees took part in the event, most of them being representatives of various local government agencies and private environmentally focused international companies. Among them were various longstanding German companies and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), an international cooperation for sustainable development and international education work. Also taking part in the exhibition were non-governmental organizations (NGOs), embassies, as well as educational institutions such as Sunway University and the German School of Kuala Lumpur.
