On 15 July 2018, Rieckermann competed in the ITU World Triathlon Series 2018 in Hamburg with the participation of six of its employees.
Rieckermann had signed up two teams, each consisting of three members, in the Olympic Distance circuit. This consisted of a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike ride and 10 km run. Its first group, comprising Jan Wegener, Oliver Bley and Berrin Otto, completed the race in 2 hours and 26 minutes, whilst its second group, comprising Oliver Lischke, Marcel Druve and Matthias Jonas, completed the race in in 2 hours and 49 minutes.
The ITU World Triathlon Series in Hamburg is renowned for its unique course which takes athletes through the Alster Lakes (Binnenalster and Außenalster) and passes along Hamburg’s symbolic landmarks, such as the Landungsbrücken piers, Altona, Elbchaussee boulevard, and finishing off in front of the backdrop of the magnificent Hamburg City Hall.
Rieckermann is proud to have been competing in this annual triathlon in Hamburg for the last two times in 2015 & 2017 as well.
