Solventless lamination

Solventless lamination bonds materials without using solvents in the adhesive process. Instead, it relies on chemically reactive adhesives that form a strong bond when substrates are pressed together. The method is valued for its reduced environmental impact and enhanced workplace safety compared to solvent-based alternatives.

Our solution offers a streamlined and effective approach to solvent-free lamination. Designed with advanced technology, our machines ensure precise coat weight accuracy.

Key features:

Tension control: Automatic closed-loop web tension ensures consistent material handling and optimal lamination results.
Three-roller laminating unit: Designed for improved lamination quality – minimizing bubbles and enhancing bond strength.
Transfer roller section: A sleeve-type rubber transfer roller is precisely shaped to match the coating width, enabling fast changeovers. This pneumatically controlled sleeve system simplifies handling, while offering a cost-effective alternative to rubber cylinders. Integrated thermoregulators for four rollers ensure precise adhesive transfer.

Dry lamination

Dry lamination is a process where a liquid adhesive, often solvent-based, is applied to a substrate, dried to remove the solvent, and then bonded to another substrate under heat and pressure.

This method is used to create composite materials, like laminated films, where the adhesive is in a dry state when the layers are joined. It is a widely used technique for packaging, especially for products requiring resistance to various chemicals and environmental factors, such as retort or sterile bags.

We offer a solvent-based solution that ensures high-quality lamination for diverse flexible substrates with varying properties and thicknesses. It is designed for ease of use and consistent performance.

Combi lamination

When both solventless and dry lamination are required, a single machine tailored to your production needs offers the ideal solution. Our combi laminator is engineered for ultra-fast changeovers between processes. Thanks to its specialized design and optimized web paths, it delivers the shortest and simplest transition in the industry.

Smart design for efficient operation: The system features two dedicated coating stations – one for solventless and one for gravure-based applications. Switching between gravure and solventless modes requires only a simple web path adjustment, with no need for heavy trolleys or additional electrical or water connections. This streamlined setup enables fast changeovers and keeps the machine ready for the next job with minimal downtime.
Parallel setup for continuous productivity: While one coating station is in use, the other can be cleaned and prepared for the next job – whether transitioning from solventless to gravure or vice versa. This parallel setup minimizes downtime and maximizes throughput.
Clean transitions, contamination-free: During solventless operation, the web bypasses the drying tunnel entirely. This eliminates the need to clean the dryer between processes and prevents solvent contamination of the solventless web.
Operator-friendly access: A full-length catwalk provides easy access to the drying hoods, ensuring safe and efficient maintenance and setup.

Web coating

Flexible packaging films gain enhanced functionality and performance through specialized coatings, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. Whether it is adding visual appeal with gloss varnishes, enabling cold seal capabilities for specific sealing needs, or improving barrier properties with PVdC or clay coatings to resist oxygen and moisture – coating plays a key role in modern packaging.

Extrusion lamination
