RIECKERMANN’S MALAYSIA OFFICE MAKES TOP TEN IN INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD

Rieckermann’s uniquely designed office in Malaysia has been acknowledged and recognized by the local creative industry when it achieved a top ten position in the REKA International Design Award (RIDA) 2018 under the category “Corporate Offices”.

The office, which officially relocated in January 2018, carries a very modern minimalist and industrial-themed interior design. It uses an industrial material design palette consistently throughout the design, reflecting the industrial nature of Rieckermann’s business. The palette incorporates polished concrete (reminiscent of warehouses), local red brick (sustainability measures), exposed ceiling services, rendered concrete, and other natural materials such as timber applications in multiple areas. The design also incorporates plenty of natural lighting and views to external open green spaces and the outdoors.

The workstations were designed to encourage social interaction between staff by allowing, unlocking the potential for the exploration and collaboration of new ideas to improve the mindfulness and general well-being of individuals, and for the development of new business opportunities. The friendly design also intends to improve the company’s corporate image immensely.

The entire construction fit-out was completed in ten weeks, having started in September 2017.

The award was announced on November 3, 2018, with Rieckermann’s submission having contended with over 200 other project submissions from across Asia.

RIDA, which is jointly organized by the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) REKA Sdn Bhd and iN Publishers Sdn Bhd, recognizes and rewards outstanding and inspiring interior designers, interiors architects, and designers within the Asia-Pacific region.
