Sharing insights and showcasing chemical recycling innovation

Rieckermann recently participated in the China International Plastic Recycling Conference (ChinaReplas 2026), where they showcased together with their partner from their investment portfolio, company BDI BioEnergy International (BDI). They highlighted advanced chemical recycling technologies that support the transition toward a circular plastics economy, with a focus on converting plastic waste into valuable secondary raw materials.

Advancing circular plastics with waste-to-value technology

A key focus at the event was the SynCycle® technology, a chemical recycling solution designed to convert mixed plastic waste into circular pyrolysis oil. This product can be returned into the production cycle of virgin plastics, supporting higher recycling rates and reducing reliance on fossil-based feedstocks.

By combining proven processing technologies with a scalable plant concept, SynCycle® enables chemical recycling to complement mechanical recycling, particularly for plastic waste streams that are difficult to recycle through conventional methods.

Industry presentation on decentralized chemical recycling

In addition, experts from Rieckermann and BDI delivered a technical presentation titled “Decentral Chemical Recycling: A Technology Provider View.”  The session explored how the decentralized concept of this innovative recycling technology could help overcome logistical and economic barriers, accelerating the development of sustainable, circular plastic value chains.

The ChinaReplas 2026 was held from March 25 to 27 in Xiamen, China. Rieckermann’s participation reflected their ongoing commitment to supporting customers with future-ready recycling solutions.
