Fostering future talents through cross-industry partnership and collaboration

Rieckermann celebrates the success of their two outstanding student trainees, Tristan Tettinger and Melina Sasse, for recently completing their Dual Study Program with the company and the Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA)!

The program provides students who are doing their Dual Study program with Rieckermann the opportunity to work independently and participate in meaningful project management tasks under their assigned team. They receive ample support and guidance from their Rieckermann colleagues, thus fostering valuable hard and soft skills while solving daily challenges. The dual study program at Rieckermann also includes enriching business trips in Germany and abroad to participate in trade fairs, visit customers, and attend training courses with suppliers. At Rieckermann, students gain a comprehensive overview of the organization by exploring various departments such as Controlling, Order Processing, Logistics, and Accounting. At the end of their training period students are qualified wholesale and foreign trade managers.

Melina Sasse, who was assigned to the metal processing team, gained plenty of industry exposure while assisting them in numerous die and mold and automotive projects across China, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand. She comments, “I spent a semester abroad at National Taipei University in Taiwan. I also visited the Rieckermann Taipei office and was able to take part in various business events, including those organized by the Chamber of Foreign Trade. The company always gave me great support as well as a lot of freedom so that I could make the time as enjoyable and educational as possible.”

Tristan Tettinger assisted the company’s pharmaceutical team, focusing on China’s vast pharmaceutical market. His Dual Study program with Rieckermann proved to be an enriching experience for him. He says, “In terms of the course content, I found the program to be highly engaging and interactive. A notable aspect is the emphasis on presentations, a skill that I have found particularly valuable in my role. Having delivered numerous presentations on topics like suppliers and pharmaceutical guidelines, the course content feels directly applicable to real-world scenarios. Additionally, the inclusion of examples from partner companies adds practical depth, ensuring that the course is not purely theoretical but strives to integrate insights from actual industry practices.

The program also instills a significant level of responsibility early on. In my case, I began traveling independently and visiting suppliers by the end of my first year of training. This early exposure is a testament to the trust Rieckermann places in their trainees, providing a hands-on learning experience from the outset.”

The event is set to be held on November 23, 2023, at the Handelskammer Hamburg, and will provide aspiring individuals the unique opportunity to engage with potential employers and make a positive impression.
